Hi there! I’m Lola - a mum of two (a daughter and a son), a primary school teacher responsible for PE (sport & physical education) and healthy school initiatives and a fitness instructor; specialising in pregnancy and motherhood fitness.

My interest in physical activity came from a young age in the form of street dancing, biking and roller-skating. However, my keenness to exercise and keep fit came after having my daughter. My relationship with an active lifestyle has evolved over the years and I have come to love the benefits it has for our longevity and mental well-being.

Six months after having my first child by emergency c-section, I decided that I wanted to get into shape (more so, to lose what is often termed ‘mummy tummy’). At the time, I didn’t realise I was suffering from diastasis recti (a separation of the abdominal wall muscles) and began using at home DVD’s which consisted of sit-ups and crunches. This was the turning point for me! I started to get a doming shape around my mid-section and after some research I discovered that the exercises I had been doing were unsafe and ineffective. I was a bit at a loss at what exercises I should and shouldn’t be doing after birth or even after a c-section. There was also, not enough expertise or classes available in my area to direct and train me in my postnatal stage.

I became intrigued so rather than keep this experience and information to myself, I qualified as a Pre and Postnatal Fitness Instructor and from that came the start of Pudding Club Fitness (‘pudding club’ being an old English phrase used to refer to a woman who was newly pregnant).

Through running fitness classes, I can now share my expertise with expecting mums and new and experienced mums about how to exercise safely, effectively and progressively, all in a FUN and welcoming environment with little need for childcare.

The ethos of PCF is to encourage all women to be the strongest, healthiest and happiest version of themselves before, during and long after pregnancy.
